Open a new Excel workbook and enter Data Set 1 on the first page.

1. Select the column.
2. Click Data on the toolbar at the top of the screen.
3. Click Data Analysis on the far right of the Data toolbar that opens.
4. Select Descriptive Statistics.
5. Enter the input range in this format [First cell in a column such as "A1"]:[Last cell in a column such as "A30"]
6. Any empty cell on the page can be entered in the Output Range box, such as "G2." This is where the analysis will appear.
7. Select Summary Statistics.
8. Click OK.
9. Excel will generate a complete set of summary statistics for the data.
10. Save the workbook with the file name "[Your last name] Project 1 Data Set 1 Descriptive Statistics" and submit the file.
