A RCT was conducted to evaluate efficacy and safety of osteoporosis ("frail bones") treatment in prevention of bone fractures in elderly women. There were 1,000 women in each experimental (drug) and placebo (control) group (Total N = 2,000). During 3 years of follow-up, there were 22 hip fractures in the placebo group and 11 hip fractures in the experimental group.
