about what they did in the past week. Among 450 boys, 295 of them

mentioned that they played a game on a video game system. Among 350 girls,

188 of them mentioned that they played a game on a video game system. Let

p1 and p2 be the proportion of boys and girls, respectively.

(i) Compute the point estimate of the difference between the two

population proportions. (2 marks)

(ii) Use 1% level of significance to determine whether the proportions of

all boys and all girls who mentioned that they played a game on a video

game system in the past week are different. Find the p-value.
