In the past, I have used several methods to conduct research.I have produced research using both quantitative and qualitative methods, and a combination thereof.Both primary and secondary sources support the two methodologies.Personally, I favor the qualitative method as it allows the researcher to obtain information or data through open-ended and conversational communication.Quantitative research is how I conducted much of the research in the past.I enjoy this method because it focuses on what people think and why they think a certain way.To conduct the research in the past, I used platforms such as the AMU Library, specifically EBSCO. I also used Google Scholar to located scholarly and peer reviewed journals to give credibility to my research.I usually collected information that support both sides of the topic to give my research merit and balance.Furthermore, research information was organized and separated by topic or by the heading in which it would support.However, in the future, I will also organize by primary and secondary sources.The business or life example that I can offer, as it applies to research, is to become very comfortable with the tools and platforms in which the information may be located.For example, if an AMU student is not comfortable with the online library, it would be beneficial for them to contact a librarian for assistance.Possessing working knowledge of how to navigate the library and other online platforms will not only save time, but it will also lead the student to creditable information that will support their research.
