A researcher wants to assess if anti-bullying interventions can increase attitudes against bullying in a random sample of 24 8th grade students. She will assess a main effect of gender (male and female), a main effect of intervention (didactic & group) and an interaction effect between gender and intervention. This factorial ANOVA will allow her to study if attitudes against bullying can be increased comparing a didactic method to a group method and assess if there is a difference between males and females on the effectiveness of either method. The Attitudes Against Bullying (AAB) will be used and higher scores reflect higher attitudes against bullying. The researcher conducts a 2 X 2 ANOVA to help in answering the questions.
Please enter and check data carefully. Please use an alpha of .05 for all analyses.
What is the dependent variable in this study?
Group of answer choices
anti-bullying intervention
attitudes against bullying
Attitudes Against Bullying scores
didactic method
What are the Shapiro-Wilk Sig. values (p) for (1) gender-males, (2) gender-females, (3) intervention-didactic, and (4) intervention-group?
Group of answer choices
.760, .785, .965, .945
.760, .785, .852, .567
.958, .960, .965, .945
.965, .945, .760, .785
What are the two independent variables in this study?
Group of answer choices
didactic method & group method
didactic method & attitudes against bullying
gender & attitudes against bullying
gender & intervention
We would conduct full data screening before using a statistic in an analysis. For the sake of brevity, I am asking you just to complete a few data screening analyses. Please complete an analysis to identify if any univariate outliers exist among the scores using the column of scores for the dependent variable. What was the highest positive z-value and highest negative z-value reflecting the scores?
Group of answer choices
1.21788, -1.63374
1.13867, -1.47532
2.34581, -2.4387
1.21788, -2.4387
2.01000, -1.87138
What two variables interact to cause the interaction effect on the dependent variable in this study?
Group of answer choices
didactic method & group method
didactic method & attitudes against bullying
gender & attitudes against bullying
gender & intervention
