A single V-belt with = 18° and a unit weight of 2.2 N/m is to be used to transmit 12kW from a 1750 rpm, 180 mm diameter driving pulley to a 1050-rpm driven pulley.Center distance is 400 mm. 

(a) on the basis that the coefficient of friction, 0.20 andthe initial belt tension is marginally adequate to prevent slippage, determine the valuesof P1 and P2.

(b) Determine the torsional and resultant radial loads applied by the belt to each shaft.

(c) Determine the initial belt tension when the drive is not operating.

(d) Determine values of P1 and P2 when the drive is operating at normal speed but transmitting only 6 kW
