A strong study design that would persuade me to follow the recommendations given in an article for my patients would be experimental, implementing blinding techniques and control groups, prospective (not retrospective), and randomization. I would want high external and internal validity. Of case report/series, case-control, cohort, and RCTs, I would choose a design that follows RCTs most closely.
