A study was designed to determine if topic interest impacted memory. Participants were given trivia questions and asked to rate their interest in the questions and were then told the answers to each question. A week later, they were asked the questions to see which ones they could recall. The results showed a strong correlation between the variables of interest rating and memory recall.

A. Explain the words (plural) you could use to describe the results of this research study and the words you cannot use. Summarize the results without using the word "correlation." B. In a variation of the study, a research assistant made a joke about remembering one of the answers to the questions. He purposely said the answer incorrectly as participants were coming in to start the recall portion of the study. What might you expect to happen with the participants who heard him say the wrong answer? Use the misinformation effect or interference theory in your answer. (Make sure you demonstrate knowledge of one of them in your answer.) C. Use what you learned about areas (plural) of the brain involved in memory to describe what areas (plural) were likely used by the participants in the study. Make sure you explain why you believe those areas were used.
