a study which provides an update on the Web-RADR project, a global initiative begun in 2014 among regulators, pharmaceutical manufacturers, the World Health Organization and academic institutions to promote innovation and safety. As the study points out, one of the main objectives of the project is to address the ethics of mining social media and individuals' posts for information regarding drug safety. Studies funded by Web-RADR have also focused on adverse event reporting and the findings of those studies indicate that 90% of adverse events go unreported.
