A survey on the College Football Playoff (CFP) was conducted in 2020, and administered to athletic directors, coaching staff, and athletic boosters. One of the questions asked if the CFP should be expanded from the current format of a 4-game playoff81% of the respondents were in favor of expanding the CFP. Many of the respondents in favor of the expansion commented that an expansion would give non-power 5 conference teams more opportunities to be in the CFP.

In December 2021, the College Football Playoff selected a non-power 5 conference team, Cincinnati, from the American Athletic Conference. Researchers wish to know if, after Cincinnati was chosen for the CFP in December 2021, the proportion of respondents in favor of expanding the CFP would be lower than in the previous year.

We know that the independence condition is met for inference because a random sample of 50 athletic directors, coaching staff, and athletic boosters were selected to participate in the December 2021 survey. Thirty-eight (38) of the respondents were in favor of expanding the CFP. State and check the remaining condition required to complete the hypothesis test. Be sure to include any relevant values.
