- Assume practical limits of removal of 30 mg/l of CaCO3 and 10 mg/l of Mg(OH)2 as CaCO3. For each step a rapid mix tank with a residence time of 1.6 minutes should be used to mix the chemicals and combined reactor/sedimentation basin is needed for each.
For both lime and soda ash treatment specify the feed rates in g/min given 10 mg/l excess lime and 10 mg/1 excess soda ash.
