A wished to sell his antique toy collection for $10,000.

He placed an advertisement in the newspapers.

B saw the advertisement and immediately rang A to say that he would like to see the antique toy collection before deciding on whether or not to purchase it.

A told B to come and view, B asked A if he would consider selling for $8,000.

A said that he would not sell the collection for anything less than $10,000.

B said he needed a day to consider A's price.

A told him that if he agreed to buy, he should send him a text message on his cell phone within the next two days.

The next day, B sent him an email saying that he will purchase the collection from A for $10,000.

However, A seldom checks his email or even uses his laptop, and thus never sees the email.

After the second day, when A received no text message from B, A sold the antique toy collection to his neighbor for $10,000.

When B came by to A'house to collect and pay for the collection, he was surprised to hear that A had sold it off.

Discuss the legal positions of A and B under the Law of Contract.
