There is no buffer between steps. The operator of a step also handles the setup in that step. The processing time per part and setup time per batch required for each step is given below that step. For step B, each work station has activity time 4 min / part. Each operator receives wages of 12/hour and can work at most 8 hours. The price of the good is 10, unit cost of the good is 6, and there is unlimited demand for the good. The production starts at the beginning of the 8-hour shift so there is a start-up.
