ABC Electronic Company Limited manufactures different electronic products e.g. cameras, televisions, electrical appliances, etc. They have received many complaints from frontline workers and also technical staffs in different departments. The staff turnover rate is high, and the following findings have been obtained during their exit interviews.

Frontline workers complain that the work is too repetitive and boring. Some of them were absent from their job without a reasonable notice.

Some engineers complain that their staff appraisals were not fair, salary increments were low, and there is no opportunity for promotion. Moreover, their jobs are too challenging, and the working hours are too long.

Based on the above scenario, a management team was appointed to review the current situation and implement necessary changes. You are a member of the team.

(a) Based on your experience, discuss ways to redesign jobs in order to improve motivation of the company frontline workers.

(b) Using Motivation theory, explain how you could improve the situation about the complaints made by the engineers.
