Abdul Hussein was born in Somalia and moved to the Minneapolis, Minnesota as a child in 1995, where he obtained US citizenship while never renouncing his Somali citizenship. Hussein joined ISIS, a group on the list of terrorist groups compiled by the US government, and went to Syria in late 2018. In October 2020, he allegedly arranged for three packages filled with explosives to be delivered to Baptist churches in Chicago. Hussein was captured by US Special Forces in Syria and sent to Saudi Arabia, where he was held in jail without trial or even being informed of charges against him, and tortured (apparently on orders from the government). The Saudi government justified these actions as being consistent with a new anti-terrorist law declared by the king. Hussein managed to escape from jail and make his way back to Syria, where he was killed, along with two dozen civilians, in an American drone strike. The King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman, will visit Washington in December to consult with President Biden. As a private international lawyer who works on human rights issues, you have been retained by Hussein's widow (a citizen of Iran).
