About financial ratios. We have:
Debt-to-capital = total debt / (total debt + total shareholders' equity)
and
Debt-to-assets = total debt / total asset
And they say those two ratios are different. But isn't Total Capital supposed to be equal to Total assets? This is not the only case. In a lot of ratios, they have assets different from Total capital. Can you tell why? Thank you.
