Abstract

The purpose of this design is to detect the human skin tone by taking a picture of a part of the body, for instance, face, neck, or arms. This device is mainly used in makeup stores to help customers pick the best shade of makeup for their skin tone without using the testers. The device also allows the user to log in to their account and save their selection and skin tone number. The design process started with identifying the stakeholders and their needs and from there the use cases were determined. After that, the system functions were created, then the FBD and the FFBD to show the interaction between the functions and the external entities. This system has 24 system requirements, based on that 5 subsystems were created, which are the GUI Subsystem, alert Subsystem, WIFI Subsystem, Battery Subsystem, and Camera Subsystem. A verification matrix for all the system requirements is provided, as is a trade study for battery selection. Finally a risk mitigation plan was created for the major risks.
