Access and download the research article Chandrakantha, L. (2013). Simulating chi-square test using Excel. Paper Presented at the 25th International Conference on Technology in Collegiate Mathematics. Read this articlefrom pages 50 to 54 and then prepare your Analytic Project in Excel file format, using following specific instructions:

Step 1. Recreate two Tables (one for observed frequencies and another for expected frequencies) on an Excel file using numbers from two tables shown on pages 53 and 54 of the article. You should correctly identify the observed frequency and expected frequency from the article and label them correctly on the Excel file.

Step 2. The article says that the computed value of Chi-square is 8.23 ("The value of the test statistic is calculated to be 8.23") on page 54. Compute this value on the Excel file. You may use the formula as shown in ChiSquareTestExcel.xlsxfile (see Module 5). Use of Excel formula for computation is important part of grade in this project.

Step 3. What is the value of degrees of freedom (df) for this computed Chi-square value? Show this on your Excel file.

Step 4. Retype (in your own words)on your Excel file the null and alternative hypotheses (see page 53 of the article).

Step 5. If you want to test this null hypothesis using p-value approach at an alpha level of 5%, what will be your p-value? Show computation on Excel file. This is part of grade in this project.

Step 6. Based on the p-value computed in Step 5, what will be your conclusion about the Chi-square test? Write in a language that anyone can understand.
