ACCESS UNDERSTANDING AND USING FORMS

Forms: Forms are used in Access to view records, add records and perform calculations

Forms are made up of objects (boxes) called controls; there are two types of controls:Bound controls: bound controls (also known as Text Boxes) are linked directly to a table and correspond with a field or fields from your tables; bound controls always contain a fieldname or fieldnames; bound controls are also used to perform calculations

Because bound controls are linked to a table or tables, when we type a record into a form, it is automatically saved to a table; similarly, when we modify or delete a record using a form, those changes are automatically saved to the table data

Unbound controls: unbound controls (also known as Labels) are not tied or linked to a table field, so unbound controls can contain any information you want; we use unbound controls for things like text, names, descriptions, pictures, headers, footers, etc.
