For this particular scenario you would compare the to different percentages in the unemployment rate, 10.5% and 10.4%. "The process of hypothesis testing involves setting up two competing hypotheses, the null hypothesis and the alternate hypothesis" (Sullivan, n.d.). A random sample population size could be used or one from a statistical number from your location's population. However, regardless of the sample sized used, if the unemployment rate drops below 10.5% to 10.4%, then this would make the hypothesis to be true.

H0: 10.5

H1: > 10.5
