According to Investopedia, a stakeholder is a “party that has an interest in a company and can either affect or be affected by the business” (Chen, 2020). Int his case, the stakeholders in this decision would be Apple’s consumers,employees, investors, competitors, the American people, and even the FBI. Thesestakeholders are at risk of their security and privacy, which can compromise important information and can be easily acquired if Apple decides to work withthe FBI. Americans are also stakeholders in this situation because the UnitedStates can prevent future attacks to happen. Stakeholders can affect Apple’sdecision because of their influence; Apple is very successful because of theirstakeholders’. Ultimately, owners of the company will have the final decision,however for Apple to stay successful, their decisions will need to align with the interests of internal and external stakeholders.
