According to research conducted by the Kaiser Foundation, the United States spends more per capita than any of the wealthiest economically developed countries: $11,945 compared to an average of $5,736 spent by comparable. Yet, a 2017 study by the Commonwealth Fund found that the United States ranked last among the eleven nations studied in achieving beneficial outcomes. In addition, data collected from the recent outbreak of COVID-19 shows the U.S. (with only 4.25% of the world's population) has suffered 16.5% of COVID deaths (94 million infections with 1,069,132 deaths in the U.S vs. 6,487, 955 deaths worldwide).
