According to the 2005 Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS), 38% of Canadians aged 18 to 24 were active (energy expenditure of 3 or more kilocalories per kilogram of body weight per day; e.g. walking an hour a day or jogging 20 minutes a day) in their self-reported leisure-time pursuits.

Two surveys of Sauder undergraduate students were done. Assume the population is all Sauder undergraduates over the past ten years. The CUS surveyed a random sample of 100 students and found that only 33% were physically active (i.e., they spent at least an hour a day in physical activity. The UGO surveyed a random sample of 600 students and found that 34% were physically active (same definition).

Assume that the CCHS definition of physical activity is equivalent to an hour a day. In the following questions, we will investigate if Sauder undergraduate students are less physically active than the general Canadian population of the same age.

Carry out the hypothesis test twice, once with each survey. Use a 5% significance level. For each, determine the test statistic and the P-value. Answers will be entered in Questions 15 through 18, one number per question.

For the CUS Survey, what is the test statistic?
