According to the disparities in the actual wealth gap, I think that the income gap would show a similar trend (reflecting the wealth of the population, not too good with distribution). I think the distribution of wealth was generally in line with what I was expecting. Ideally, I think there would obviously be an equal distribution of wealth (similar to what the video was projecting). I think it's sad that there is such an uneven balance (the top 1% isn't even on the chart's scale) but I don't think it's surprising. I think that Americans remain unaware of the magnitude of this inequality because they are focused on themselves and their own living conditions/essentially what is around them, what is affecting them directly rather than how are other people living. If someone is directly impacted by this inequality, they will likely take it more seriously than someone who does relatively well for themselves or someone who has an "obscene" amount of wealth. discuss
