1. According to the principle that the more you know about someone, the more you will like them, divorce does not seem to be a logical outcome for married people. Nonetheless, it is a common occurence in some cultures. Using the axioms of uncertainty reduction theory, suggest how long-term relationships can deteriorate. 
2. Compare/contrast internal and external dialectics. Discuss what causes these dialectics to exist.  (minimum of 50 words)
3. According to Altman and Taylor  intimacy is established through disclosure. Petronio seems to advocate that unmanaged disclosure is problematic. Explain what Petronio means by this. How do you reconcile these positions? 
4. Compare and contrast the central and peripheral routes. In your answer, be sure to discuss what kinds of messages each route handles, which route handles more messages, and why you think so.
