According to official sources, in 2020, car sales decreased by about 21.7% compared to the previous year, reaching 125,004 units, and all manufacturers in the top of the best-selling new cars recorded decreases. In December 2020, 15814 cars were sold, 16.2% more than in December of the previous year.

Passenger car sales account for 85% of all vehicles sold, with commercial vehicles, minibuses and buses making up the remainder.

Renault: 9,963 units, 24.9% fewer than in 2019

Volkswagen: 9,441 units, 8.4% fewer than in 2019

Ford: 6,874 units, 42.3% fewer than in 2019

Hyundai: 6,852 units, 14.6% fewer than in 2019

Toyota: 6,870 units, 5.3% fewer than in 2019

Suzuki: 3,956 units, 20.2% less than in 2019

Peugeot: 3,517 units, 3.8% fewer than in 2019

Mercedes-Benz: 2,972 units, 16% fewer than in 2019 By model, Dacia's top preferences in 2020 were:

Dacia Logan - with 18,474 units registered - in first place, but down 28.5% compared to 2019,

Dacia Duster - with 9,826 units and -15% compared to 2019,

Dacia Sandero - with 9,420 units and -5.1% compared to 2019.

In order of ranking, the following:

Renault Clio with 3,958 units and -25.3%.
