Betty put on a load of washing and then went shopping. On her return the house was ablaze and she was told by the firemen that the washing machine had caught fire. 

⦁ Advise Betty whether she can use the provisions of the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) to successfully sue the supplier for the damage to her house. Explain the legal principles and cases.
