Accounts Clerk: I'm good thanks, how are you, how's your day manager. I hope you doing well today Manager: I'm good, thanks I'm doing well. So tell me I'm sure you are here to discuss something with me. Accounts clerk Hahahah actually yes, have you received my email about this week's meeting. Manager yes, i did receive the email, but I'm not sure what time the meeting will be because you haven't mentioned the time in the email so make sure you always mention the time of meeting when announcing the meeting because it's really important you know. Accounts Clerk OMG I didn't mention the time in the email I must have forgotten, I'm so sorry, I'll send the email to everyone again. Manager: It's fine everyone makes mistakes. Accounts Clerk: so the meeting will be on Friday from 12:30pm to 2:15pm. Manager: okay no problem, just make sure everything is prepared and ready for the meeting. Accounts Clerk: Okay sure. Manager: Anything else that you wanted to tell me or that's it. Accounts Clerk well I do have something else to ask, Manager: yeah go on tell me what is it? Accounts Clerk I was wondering if I can get a day off on Thursday? Manager Ummmm Thursday? What for, any specific reason because you know that we are so busy on that day. Accounts Clerk: Well, I have a bit of a situation. My child has a performance at school on Thursday and I really want to join her performance as it's her first time performing and representing her class in school. That's important to me, and I was wondering if I could have the day off to attend. Manager Oh, that's nice, But I'm not sure. Accounts Clerk: Well it's her first time to perform and it's so important as parents. Manager: Hmm, I understand that it's important to you, but Thursday is one of our busiest days. We have a lot of invoices to process and clients to attend to. Accounts Clerk: I'm aware that we are so busy on Thursday, but I'll be back as soon as my child finishes her performance and finishes what I supposed to. Manager well maybe it's best you send your husband to attend her performance because we have a lot to finish. Accounts Clerk: I understand but I promise that I will be back after my kid goes down the stage because I have a lot going on in my personal life as me and my husband got divorce few months ago. Manager: Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. Accounts Clerk: it's really hard for me as a single mother I have a lot of responsibilities and I don't want my child to suffer even more. I don't want her to feel that I'm not doing good enough for her as her father didn't for her. Manager: I see Well, I'm not sure that I can let you go, I understand your situation, but we will be so behind, and our clients won't be happy with that situation, and you know what happens when they are not happy. Accounts Clerk: I guarantee that I will finish the invoices before the end of the day and I won't let you down on this. I'll try to find someone to cover for me but if not I'll stay late or do it at home. Manager: Yeah, maybe try to find someone to cover your place but if not, you must finish it by the end of the day. Accounts Clerk So, my daughter will finish her performance at 11:00 pm. I promise that I will be back right away and I will finish all of the work before next Thursday. Manager sounds good to me, I trust you Valerie, don't let me down on this. I'll count that on you as you have been such a good employee and have been working with us for so long and I haven't seen any mistakes from you, and you have been working so hard I see so I'll count this on you as well. Good luck on your daughter's performance. Accounts Clerk thank you so much, I'll do my best and do all of my work from home and send it to you before Thursday. Manager Sounds good. Just make sure that everything runs smoothly. We can't afford any delays or mistakes. Accounts Clerk: sure, I have missed many memories with my kid. I missed a lot of her performances. She really loves singing and always tries her best to practice. Last night she came into my room, hugged me, then she asked me if I could come next Thursday because she wanted to make me feel proud of her. She also cried and she said that I haven't come to any school events and she feels lonely. Manager Alright, I'll tell you what. If you can finish processing all the invoices by the end of the day tomorrow, I'll see if we can make it work for you to take the day off on Thursday. Just keep in mind that this can't become a regular occurrence. We have a job to do, and our clients rely on us to be there for them. Accounts Clerk: Thank you so much Manager. I can prove to you tomorrow that I'll finish it before the end of the day. I'll be back after my kid finishes her performance and work hard to complete my missions. Manager: No problem. Again best of luck to your child at the recital. I hope it goes well. And don't forget to leave your absent letter. Accounts Clerk: Thank you for your time and I'll bring it later. See you! Manager See you,. Accounts Clerk See you, Ms
