Corporate Split$$No matter how you look at it$,$ Dow Chemical had busy years in $2014$ and $2015.$ In $2014,$ Dow announced that it was planning to sell its subsidiaries Angus Chemical Company, Sodium Borohydride, and AgroFresh. Dow also had recently completed the sale of a portion of its North America rail car fleet. Additionally, the company was in the process of a planned carveout of its U$.$S$.$ Gulf Coast chlor$-$alkali$/$chlor$-$vinyl, global chlorinated organics, and epoxy businesses that would be completed in $2015.$ Why might a company split off a division? Is there a possibility of reverse synergy?
