Activity 1 - Cart on a Ramp Equipment: Long Track, cart, motion detector From LoggerPro software, open the file "03 Cart on a ramp" from the "Physics with Vernier" folder. Arrange your cart, motion detector, and ramp as shown in the picture below, with the motion detector facing the cart. Motion Detector cart With the car starting at the bottom of the ramp, lunch the cart with a proper initial speed so that cart is at least 15 cm away from the motion detector at its highest position. Then use the motion detector to collect data and display the x-t and v-t graphs of the motion of the cart going up and down along the track. Do a curved fit (quadratic ax2 + bx + c) to the data on x-t graph and linear fit to the data on v-t graph. Paste your plots of x - t and v -t below or submit them on Canvas as "Activity 1". Make sure fitting results are displayed on both plots. 1. Record below the mathematic expression of "curved-fit" on your x-t graph (include units) and explain the physical meanings of factors (coefficients) "a", "b" and "c" (What physics quantities can you get from a, b and c.) 2. Record below the mathematic expression of "linear fit" on your v-t graph and explain the physical meaning of each factor (coefficient)
