Actually, I do not agree with Mal's statement that accounting firms refused "to properly police" the financial reporting domain and that they are too concerned with lining their pockets with the huge fees paid to them by their clients to be objective financial detectives, they often look other way rather than blow the whistle on those frauds. Mal's point of view is so bent that he either truly believes that his inside trading is public service to the economy or he just say it to persuade Bishop to join his organization. On other hand, I of course agree that the accounting and financial reporting scandals in recent years have really undermined the credibility of those firms and damaged their public image. There are always firms who practice service with due professional care and firms who are corrupted in every trade they get involved in. We can not assume that all firms are crooked because of some scandals. Therefore, regulatory bodies keep perfecting the legal and regulatory requirements
