Because it was a small group of us that ran what we called the back end of the store, we each were responsible for fulfilling many duties that would make the boutique run smoothly. The main high-performing characteristic that I think was truly embodied by our team was dependability. Our team was comprised of 5 people who did all of the online and system functions for the brick-and-mortar as well as the online store and because we were such a small team dealing with such a high volume of customers and sales, each team member was responsible for meeting deadlines and performance goals. In larger groups, there can be delegation to other team members, but in a small group with each member tasked with several assignments, each member assumes responsibility for their own tasks.
