Additional info: this is from an end of chapter homework practice not the actual class quiz which will count for my grade.

I have tried this several times on my homework and I keep getting the median incorrect....

Question:

How large is a wolf pack? The following information is from a random sample of winter wolf packs. Winter pack size are given below. Compute the mean, median, and mode for the size of winter wolf packs.

(For each answer, enter a number. Round your answers to one decimal place.)

Numbers given:

1 9 6 4 6 6 1 3 2

12 2 14 3 3 17 6 7

My answers:

Mean = 5.17 (marked correct)

Median = 4 (marked incorrect)

Mode = 6 (marked correct)

Steps I take to get my answers:

Mean = this is the average so I added the numbers and divided by the total #'s and my answer was 5.17

Mode = this is the data set most frequently occurring and I see that number is 6

Median = I arranged the numbers from low to high and selected the middle number. I come up with 4 but it was marked incorrect.
