on new, single family homes located in the South Florida area. Our research displays details on property address, listing price, square footage and number of bedrooms. REAL ESTATE DATA PART 1 3 REAL ESTATE DATA PART 1 4 Based upon this data we can conclude that the overwhelming majority of homes within South Florida are priced within the $400,000 - $499,999\" range. This information lends itself to the idea that home values are slowly going up. As the next substantial jump in home price is $510,000 to $600,000; homes at these prices seem to be more abundant. Additionally; the frequency table above shows homes priced at $385,000 and $499,900 appearing four times each. Cost of Houses Size of homes in Sq. Ft. Mean $ 460,506.21 2735.78 Mode $ 499,900 2368 Median $ 449,900 2658 Next, the Mean, Mode, and Median for the 100 homes are represented above. The three categories are expressed for both the cost of the home and square footage per home. When looking at the mean or the average over all price of the 100 homes, the mean is $460,506. The Mode, or the most commonly seen price of the homes is $499,900. Then, when looking at the Median or the price of home, it sits dead center with 50% being less and 50% being higher at $449,900. Now, calculating the mean, mode, and median for square footage of the properties, the results are as follows: mean or the average square foot in the 100 homes is 2736 rounded up, mode, or the most frequent square foot is 2368 sq. ft., and the median where 50% are smaller and 50% are larger we find 2658 sq. ft. REAL ESTATE DATA PART 1 5 The empirical rule (68%-95% -99.7%) for our observed data of 100 homes which would be located on the x axis only applies to symmetrical data. The Empirical Rule applies to data sets with a bell-shaped relative frequency histogram; these measurements sit between one, two, and three standard deviations, and are only estimates of proportions. Chebyshev's Theorem is a fact which applies to all possible data sets and describes the minimum proportion of the measurements that lie between one, two, or more standard deviations of the mean (Lind, D., Marchal, W., & Wathen, S.A., 2015). Therefore; the Empirical Rule is more accurate because there was an abundance of information relating to the shape of the distribution which, in turn, made our percentages and predictions to be more accurate than if we were to apply Chebyshev's Theorem. We see that the Mean is 4.09 which means the average for all the homes we selected was approximately 4 rooms per house. At the top of each Bar we find the actual count of homes that possessed the corresponding number of rooms. For example, the Bar REAL ESTATE DATA PART 1 6 with #53 represents four bedroom houses. Then, the bar with #22 reflects three bedroom houses. This allows us to conclude that the majority of new home listings in the South Florida area have between two to three bedrooms as they are represented the most on this graph. There is a slight variance with five bedroom houses and the least amount of homes for sale have six bedrooms.
