Adler's assumption of human nature is that humans strive for perfection (Neukrug, 2018). According to Adler, a human's purpose, private logic, and subjective final goal in life is influenced by experiences made by age five. Adler suggests that the feeling of inferiority may also influence our private logic and subjective final goal (Neukrug, 2018). The Adlerian concepts that I find most interesting are; private logic, subjective final goal, and feeling of inferiority. Private logic is the self-awareness of how an individual feels about their life, and it influences a person's subjective final goal. The methods of coping with the feeling of inferiority can influence an individual's success in overcoming inferiority; parents that are encouraging and supportive can help individuals overcome their inferiority (Neukrug, 2018).
