Advertiser, political group, websites, blogs, magazines and even news programs want to sway our opinion or make us buy something. It seems to always be about power and money. How do they do it and why are we so gullible? They count on our fears, our superstitions, our beliefs and our stereotypes to sway our opinions. They hope we do not check out the facts. However, have you ever heard the phrase, "Let the buyer beware"? I once heard that we should never believe everything we hear and only half of what we see. Tell us about a time you were swayed to change your opinion or purchase something only to have "buyer's remorse" (perhaps a regret after your purchase or decision to change your vote). How can we become more aware of an advertiser's or political group's or even a newscaster's bias? How can advertising affect a patient's decision in regards to their health?
