Question 1 a) John and Rita were married in June 2018. They have been separated for the last six months due to irreconcilable differences. Last week, following John's request, both John and Rita met at a cafe where John disclosed his intention of petitioning for divorce. He told Rita that if she does not contest the divorce, he will transfer ownership of the matrimonial home (which was bought by him and currently in his name) to her. Rita agreed to the deal but insisted that John put his promise in writing with which John complied. The divorce by mutual consent was recently granted by the court. John now refuses to transfer the house to Rita as promised and claims that the promise is not legally binding. Advise Rita
