Affordable and accessible housing in Canada is often polluted by conditions needing to be met by human beings before being considered "worthy" of housing. This is leading to increased rates of discrimination, racism and homelessness, perpetuation of the belief that an individual must be the perfect candidate to deserve a home. When considering the homeless population in your city, describe how you, as a Social Worker, might follow process while advocating for the client. Keep in mind that many agencies (systemic discrimination) also believe that a person must "earn" their home by being sober, white, financially stable, able bodied, etc.
