After an exporter has shipped but before you, the importer, have received merchandise, you begin to suspect that the quality of the imported merchandise will not meet your specifications. The most effective measure you, the importer can do to evaluate the merchandise is:

(a) Upon arrival of the merchandise, process a warehouse entry, inspect the merchandise, and if the merchandise is defective, re-export the merchandise and file a drawback entry

(b) Upon arrival of the merchandise, process an entry for consumption and inspect the merchandise. If it is defective, re-export the merchandise and file a drawback entry

(c) Place the merchandise into an FTZ and inspect the merchandise and if it is defective, re-export the merchandise without filing a drawback entry

(d) Place the merchandise into an FTZ and inspect the merchandise and if it is defective, re-export the merchandise and file a drawback entry
