(What is the difference between an affirmative action goal and a quota? Is there a difference? Explain.

The difference between an affirmative action goal and a quota is, that affirmative action is related to the recruiting process of women and minorities, while a quota is related to the recruiting process as well as, transferring and promoting for specific minority groups. More specific according to the dictionary affirmative action is "A collection of procedures aimed at eliminating unlawful discrimination among applicants, redressing the consequences of earlier discrimination, and preventing it in the future." (Legal Information Institute). The significant difference between these two is that affirmative action's goal is to eliminate every aspect of racial discrimination and reverse racial discrimination. On the other hand, some of the practices that quotas are used are related to discrimination policies, in favor of a certain minority. In my opinion, this is the part where quotas are showing a major difference with affirmative action.)
