After completing the assigned reading, discuss the importance of effectively planning for the protection of critical infrastructure and key resources (CI/KR) sectors in risk assessment and hazard mitigation. Selected two of the four CI/KRs discussed in this unit (communications, energy, transportation, water), and discuss the potential risks to those sectors should a major hurricane make landfall in New York City. Discuss the interdependencies between the two CI/KR sectors, including vulnerability and consequence.
