After graduating from the University of Arkansas, you and a friend decided to start a travel agency. Sunny Days Travel (SDT) expects its customers to include university students participating in international exchanges and taking spring break vacations.

On January 2, 2021, SDT opened its doors for business. During its first two weeks in business, SDT entered into a number of transactions including the following:

Date

Transaction

January 2

SDT borrowed $25,000 from TD Bank. The loan and interest are to be repaid on December 31, 2021.

January 6

SDT purchased an advertisement in Reginas Leader-Post newspaper. The advertisement announcing SDTs grand opening and vacation packages ran in the newspaper from that Monday to Friday. SDT expects to receive an invoice for the $15,000 cost of the advertisement on January 13 at which time it will make payment.

January 7

SDT hired a janitorial service to clean its offices. The first cleaning is scheduled for January 15. The offices will be cleaned each Wednesday at a cost of $500 per week.

January 10

SDT purchased vacation guidebooks for several countries to be given to customers when they book vacations. The supplier delivered the vacation guidebooks to SDT later that day and SDT paid the $750 cost at that time.

Prepare the journal entries (in good form) to record the transactions occurring from January 2 to 10, 2021. If no journal entry is required, you must state that no journal entry is required and why.
