For example, Walmart uses scare tactics, managerial surveillance, and closing stores to avoid unionization in the United States, yet it recognizes union membership in foreign countries. Research NLRB's Right to Unionize [Section 7 & 8(a)(1)] legislation and discuss how some companies can legally obstruct employee rights to organize, join, or form a union. Research and identify the company/companies that have been able to avoid legal ramifications for such actions. Address such questions as: What legal loopholes can companies use to avoid union membership? Why are companies such as Walmart more interested in avoiding unions than embracing them?
