After reading the UMDNJ (currently part of Rutgers University) Corporate Integrity Agreement, (google it) search for an article or actual Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA) in which an organization that failed to meet compliance standards (e.g., due to violation of HIPPA, the Anti-Kickback Statute and the Stark Law, Whistler Blower Protection, Medicare/Medicaid fraud, etc.) set forth by federal agencies, e.g., the Office of Inspector General (OIG) of the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and was required to enter into a CIA. This article or agreement should have occurred within the last five to seven years. What were the penalties and what remediation efforts were required to be put in place to ensure that the breach would not occur again?
