After the lockdown, pubs and restaurants will re-open. Some of them offer buffet (all you can eat) options: you pay a fixed price, and then you consume as much as you can from a given set options.

a) When would a restaurant choose la carte pricing (items charged separately) and when would it choose buffet pricing? Try to consider all factors that affect the decision.

b) Assume that the same meals are offered in la carte and buffet options. Would you expect different types of consumers to choose a la cart and buffet option? (Hint: As a consumer, when would you choose a la carte and when would you choose buffet?)

c) All things equal, would you eat more when you order a la carte or when you choose the buffet? In your answer, make sure to refer to some economic concept(s).
