Purpose The ability to analyse existing visualisations and provide suggestions for improvement is a valuable skill. It will help you develop an understanding of the principles of good design. Later in semester you will be creating a visualisation from OECD Health Statistics for your Visualisation Project. In this assignment you will be become familiar with how pervious authors have used this data base for creating visualisations Identify three visualisations using OECD Heath Statistics (does not have to be an OECD published visualisation) Analyse the context of the visualisations and data elements contained in visualisation Critique the visualisations according to good data visualisation principles and guidelines Do not choose a visualisation that has been critiqued in a blog or text book etc. Try looking in newspapers, information style websites and scientific papers. Visualisations may appear in same publication or article. This is a individual assessment worth 20% of your final mark.
