Alan is the registered freehold owner of a rural estate, Rivendell. In 2001, Alan sold an old cottage (the Carrock) forming part of the estate to Brian. The Carrock is almost completely encircled by Rivendell, though there is a narrow and inconvenient road through rough country to the public highway. Since anyone can remember, the owners of The Carrock have crossed Rivendell by a quicker and easier path. In 2012, Alan granted an annual lease to Christopher of an old public house, The Green Dragon, on the estate. At that time, he said that Christopher could park his car and those of his customers on a piece of land behind the Green Dragon itself, and that he could store his tools and other items in a shed also used by Alan. The following year Alan sold the freehold of the Green Dragon to Christopher. Alan has just sold Rivendell to Dorothy. Dorothy is annoyed by the large number of cars parked on her land, by the large number of tools in the shed, and by the sight of Brian strolling across her land. She wishes to cancel all of these arrangements. Advise Dorothy.
