Alice is a solicitor in Victoria. Alice runs her own law firm which specialises in criminal law. She often appears in the Victorian Magistrates' Court on behalf of her clients. There is a particular Magistrate (Magistrate Brown) who Alice does not like - she thinks he is unqualified and does not know how to properly run a courtroom. Alice is always annoyed when she has to appear in a matter being heard by Magistrate Brown. One day, while representing a client in a matter before Magistrate Brown, Alice wanted to make a particularly important point, but opposing counsel was making submissions at the time. Despite this, Alice got to her feet and started speaking over opposing counsel - after all, what she had to say was very important and could not wait, in her opinion. Magistrate Brown asked Alice to sit down but she ignored him and kept talking, speaking over both the Magistrate and opposing counsel. Magistrate Brown continued to insist that Alice take her seat and allow opposing counsel to continue his submissions, which she eventually begrudgingly did while muttering 'you're an idiot, Magistrate Brown' under her breath.
