all inclusive Hawaii The management team at Big Island Hotel in Hawaii is responsible for transitioning from a hotel model to an all-inclusive concept. The Board of Directors wants to shift from marketing the resort as a hotel-only destination to an all-inclusive, which is rare in Hawaii. These concepts are far more popular in destinations such as Mexico, Dominican Republic or Jamaica. The Hotel President expects the project management team to perform a brainstorming session to generate project ideas. The strategic initiative will be set up as a program, but the expectation is that you recommend the 1 best project, to begin with. Once the team agrees on a minimum of 7 projects, each project manager (individually) must create a recommendation identifying what they believe is the most important project. Since the resort hires from Conestoga, the team is well-versed in brainstorming, paired comparison and the 6 Thinking Hats tools to support solid decision-making. General resort information: The resort was built in 1950 and underwent a renovation from 1996 to 1998 in preparation for millennium celebrations 20-minute drive from the airport Average occupancy is 50% and has been declining by 10% year over year for 3 years There are 500 rooms in 1 building There is only a small breakfast and lunch restaurant onsite The resort is oceanfront and has a small town and golf course nearby. There are 2 pools (1 adult only), 2 restaurants and no beach, water or land activities Project parameters and assumptions: The projects must be completed within a year The total budget must not exceed $1,000,000 Assume the human and project resources are available Disruption to guests must be kept to a minimum

A personal reflection on the group brainstorming session, and at minimum, include your (personal) insights on what went well, what didn't go well, and ideas on how you would perform brainstorming in the future. 1.3. Explain your group's process to down-select the five (5) most important projects. 1.4. make a Paired Comparison chart and perform the comparison using the five (5) projects. All your group members will have the same list. 1.5. Include the chart and results in your assignment. 1.6. Evaluate the #1 project using the Six Thinking Hats. 1.7. Reflect on your experience using both decision-making tools process. Your reflection should include insightful and meaningful content, such as which approach worked best, whether the process was simple or complex, whether you have enough information, does your decision remain the same or has changed, etc. 1.8. Recommend to Hotel President the project (1) you recommend and the reason(s) why. The reasons should be based on your paired comparison and six thinking hats analysis.
