. Queue the Star Wars Theme Song. Cecil, Gretta, and Buster are eagerly awaiting the release of the next Star Wars movie (Rogue Squadron). They have been trying to create their own puppy version of the Death Star. The dogs believe that they have finally corrected a serious flaw in the Death Star just in time to save the Empire from the pesky Rebel Alliance. Cecil has sketched their plans below. The dogs envision a small hollow spherical cavity inside of a large solid charged sphere. The dogs will create this using superposition of two spheres. The first sphere has radius, Router, and charge per volume, Ipol. The second sphere has radius, Rinner, and charge per volume, -| pol. Both spheres are centered at the origin, (0, 0, 0). The dogs are using puppy mind control and would like us to help them figure out what the electric potential at the center of the hollow cavity of their creation would be. Let's do this step-by-step. a. First, determine the electric field both inside and outside of a generic solid sphere of radius, B, and charge per volume, p. You can solve this radially even though I have used Cartesian labeling. b . Second, use your prior answer to determine the electric potential inside of the generic charged sphere from the prior part at a location (r, 0, 0). Assume that the electric potential is zero at an infinite radial distance from the center. C . Apply superposition of your prior result to the two spheres (as described in the incredibly long paragraph at the start). Use this superposition to determine the combined electric potential at the point a, 0, 0) with the assumption that a is less than Rinner and that the electric potential is zero at infinity. Note that the two spheres have different radii. Make certain to account for this! d . Let Rinner = V2Ro and Router = 2Ro. What value of po would make the electric potential at (a, 0, 0) equal to 109Ro/Go in volts? Be certain to include units in your value of po! Po Rinner Router
